FAQs Balloons

Can you custom print balloons?

Yes, we can get latex balloons printed (min 100 + 2 week lead time). Certain restrictions apply. Please speak to event staff for more information.

Can you come to the place I am having my event and tell me what I need?

Yes, we can provide a site survey. There is $100 fee that is payable prior to us attending your event location. But most times if you can supply detailed photos we can help you plan your room in store or over the phone.

I want a balloon arch at my event. What do I need to know?

The first and foremost thing to remember is you need to know the height of the ceiling where you are placing the arch. Too many times a gorgeous balloon arch looks wretched because half of it is flush with the low ceiling! There is a simple formula to determine the size of your arch – width + height = length. Example…doorway is 8 feet wide, ceiling is 12 feet high, therefore the arch would be 20 feet. (8 +12 = 20)

Can I suck the helium out of a balloon and make my voice funny?

It can be fatal to suck helium from a balloon because it displaces the oxygen from your lungs! Do not under any circumstances allow children to use a helium tank without adult supervision!!

Is helium flammable?

No, helium is not flammable, and therefore very safe to use.

Can I rent a helium tank and blow up the balloons myself?

Yes, we rent helium tanks that can fill from 50 balloons up to 300 28cm balloons. We provide a nozzle to inflate, as a Kit ribbons and balloons can be included. Remember, you will only get 10-20hrs float time so balloons should be blown up a couple of hours before your event to make sure that they maintain their freshness throughout your event. You must not transport the helium tanks with the nozzles attached, as they could break, and are expensive to replace.

What does it cost to have balloons at my event?

We treat each event with special care and attention, so it is difficult to give a general pricelist on our website. Certain contributing factors are the distance to job site, time frame to setup the job, and the type of décor selected. Please speak with one of our event staff to discuss designs, themes and pricing. .

Why can’t I just blow balloons up the day before my event?

If you are using foil balloons, you should have no problems. But latex balloons must be treated with Hi‐Float in order to ensure that they float longer than 24 hours

What is Hi‐Float?

Hi‐Float is a liquid protective coating that is inserted into the balloon and spread around to prevent helium from escaping as quickly. It is water‐soluble and non‐toxic. (Extra charge)

How long will balloons last?

28cm latex balloons generally last between 12‐20 hours filled with helium, and about 2‐3 days when treated with Hi‐Float. Foil balloons last approx. 5‐7 days. Air‐filled balloons generally last for a couple of weeks, but will not float.

What happens to balloons that fly away?

Often latex balloons are released either on purpose or accidentally. Research shows that most of these latex balloons—the ones that are well-tied and have no structural flaws—rise to an altitude of about five miles, where they freeze, breaking into spaghetti-like pieces that scatter as they return to earth. While we do know that animals occasionally eat these soft slivers of rubber, the evidence indicates that pieces ultimately pass through the digestive system without harming the animal.

Are latex balloons biodegradable?

Qualatex balloons are made from 100% latex – not plastic. Our latex balloons are biodegradable, and decompose as fast as a leaf in your backyard.
